Why do I need a new website if I already have one?

Your company website is a lot more than simply a portal to direct patients to your phone number or address. There are several reasons why you should consider a new website, even if you already have one.  One of the most common reasons we recommend a redevelopment is if your site is not “responsive.”  A responsive website is one that works seamlessly across all devices such as PC’s, laptops, tablets, and phones.  Just look at the data.  In November of 2016, web traffic was higher from cell phones and tablets than it was for desktops.

The use of cell phone and tablet for internet access is only going to become more prevalent in the next few years, so its really important to have a website that engages your customers and looks professional.



I need some changes to my current website. Do you provide that service?

Yes! For one time changes, we will discuss what alterations you would like to make and provide you with an estimate before beginning any work.  The estimate is based on the complexity of work and anticipated time to completion.  If you also have needs for routine maintenance, consider signing up for one of our service plans too.

How much does a new website cost?

That’s a tough question!  Website pricing is similar to wondering how long the development process will take.  It varies based on the complexity, special features, and overall layout.  Although we recommend higher quality websites with good SEO, blogs, and social media integration, we understand that some companies want a slick website on a budget too.  Our price for a simple website based on a demo starts at $1,500.  You can add on whatever features that you’d like a la carte as well.  Use our Get a Quote page to submit your ideas and we’ll get back to you shortly with an estimate.

How long does it take to build a new website or redesign one?

Unfortunately, there’s no simple answer for this question.  Some of our basic sites may take 4-6 weeks while custom developed sites may be a few motnhs.  It very much depends on how large the site is, the desired extra features (ie: memberships, SEO, social media integration, newsletters, etc), and the amount of customization.  It is very helpful to have Word documents or Powerpoints laid out with the desired text and images for each individual page ahead of time.

Why is social media so important for my site?

Social media had rapidly become a tremendously important component of websites.  Think about all the time you spend on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, LinkedIn, and others.  It’s quite staggering isn’t it? Facebook is the most used social media platform with over 200 BILLION active accounts across the world. Have you ever seen a “sponsored ad” on your Facebook feed?  That’s a company that is paying only a few dollars a day to advertise based on a specific demographic, locality, and interests.  Social media platforms not only provide a great opportunity for brand recognition, but also play a vital role in creating links back to your site to help its general SEO.  Check out this article about how social media affects your site’s SEO.

What is SEO and why is it so important?

SEO helps a business grow. Plain and simple.  SEO (or search engine optimization) is crucial to search engines because it will look for the important keywords on your website’s pages.  Although SEO is relaitvely complex, three of the most important features are links, social media, and focus keywords.  COMO Web Designs uses a program called SEOPress which is a leader in SEO practices.  SEOPress provides excellent tools to ensure that your pages and posts are long enough, have enough keywords, and meets the criteria for a well-desired site.

Consider this example: You’re traveling to Chicago and your craving some deep dish pizza.  You search for “best deep dish pizza in Chicago.”  Giordano’s, Lou Malnati’s Pizza, and Pequod’s Pizza are the three first results and are accompanied with their location on the map and their google reviews. How likely are you to try one of these places?  The odds are pretty good, right?  Most people wont scroll to the third or fourth page of results when they have seemingly good options on center stage.  This is where SEO comes in.  Your website is no different.  By harboring good SEO and other methods, we can get your business onto the first page or two of google’s search results.

Can I see my website while it's being developed?

Of course! In fact, we encourage it. We can build your website on a development server and provide you with the temporary web address so you can monitor the progress.  We highly encourage your feedback during this phase so we can make any changes that you would like early on.  Clients often have a vision of their website beforehand. Our development server is a great way to ensure that we are headed down the right path for you. Once your site is completed and you have provided your final approval, we activate the site and submit your domain to the major search engines.

What happens if I don't like my new website?

COMO Web Designs has a safeguard in place to help with this problem.  We have two “checkpoints” along the way to ensure that we are headed in the right direction for you. We describe it in more detail in the “Our Process”  section of the site. This is especially important in the initial phases as sometimes the ideas of the developer and client get crisscrossed.  The beautiful thing about a wordpress based site is that virtually everything is customizable to your preferences whether it be the general layout, colors, fonts, etc. Together we’ll build a beautiful site that you can be proud of!

I'm paying too much for my current website, do you offer any website support plans?

Yes!  COMO Web Designs was founded with the goal of providing website design, support services and content management to small and large business alike at a reasonable cost. Many companies charge exuberant fees for simple site updates.  Not us.  We’ll provide you with honest, up-front pricing at a good value.  There’s no reason to break the bank when we’ll do the same job (or better) for less that what you’re paying now.  Take a look at our support plans.  We can even customize something for you as well based on your specific needs.
