Where are all the bilinguals?
Have you ever felt like you are no good when trying to learn a new language? Have you invested time and money into classes, courses, or mobile apps, yet with little success? You’re not alone. There are millions of people out there just like you. They believe that some people are simply gifted at learning languages, while the rest are destined to struggle. Allow me to change your mind, if you will.
Jeff Martin is a master certified Spanish court interpreter, with no college degree. He’s never lived in a foreign country, but yet has managed to become fluent in several languages. Here’s the kicker: he didn’t even start to learn a new language until he was an adult!
Jeff has been a polyglot for many years, and has only met a handful of people ever that can do what he does. He’s met hundreds and hundreds of people though who have taken foreign language classes and/or have bought language courses and have never truly learned a foreign language. Jeff’s mission is to change that: In fact, he’s spent the last eleven years writing a book just for you.
Language learning is something that we naturally do at first, with our native language, yet becomes a mystery when we approach learning a second one. Jeff believes that it shouldn’t be a mystery. We all learned our first language so naturally and flawlessly, it should be easier to learn a second one. Yet, because of the approach most of us take, many never become fluent in a second language. Jeff’s goal is to open up the eyes of the world to see that everything we need to know about learning foreign languages is already within us, in our experience that we gained from learning our first language!
In his book, “How to Really Learn a Language” you will learn:
- Why courses and current methods are mostly ineffective.
- How to approach language learning in a natural way.
- How to sound like a native speaker.
- How to learn multiple languages if so desired.
- Ultimately how to find the language master within yourself.
About the Author
Jeff Martin first stumbled upon his passion for languages on his first trip to Brazil at the age of 17. Since then, he has become fluent in several languages, and now works as a master certified Spanish court interpreter in North Carolina. Throughout his journey, he has met many people who ask him the same question. “How can I become fluent in a foreign language?” Through over 11 years of research, analysis, interviews, language lessons, and ultimately watching his children learn to speak, he developed the answer to that question in the form of a book.
