Time Management for a Busy Life

by May 16, 2018

Have you ever wondered to yourself “just exactly how am I supposed to get all this done?”  As a busy mom of three, I often find myself looking for better ways to stay organized, manage my time better, and make sure everyone is where they need to be at the right time.  However, I was lost and in need of a time management platform to help me sort out my busy life.

The Search is ON!

I have searched high and low for the most functional application on the market that would assist me in my time management quest and would not break the bank.  I was introduced to a program called Asana.  Asana is a time management platform that can be used by an individual or by a company.  Asana allows users to “bring emails, files, tickets, and more into Asana with over 100 integrations to choose from, so you can see everything in one place.”  Asana permits you to add a task and assign them to different individuals within your team, assign due dates, and then allows the assigned person to mark the task as complete.

A 2017 article from Business First Family states that nearly 38% of employees in the management, business, and financial operations industries work from home at least some of the time.  This only strengthens the need for companies to invest in some sort of project management platform for either individuals or groups that can do all things business oriented.  That is exactly what Asana offers.

Time Management

All the Bells…

Asana is a very versatile time and project management tool that gives those that are using the application the ability to see the completion rate of task as well as “share results with your team and see how work is progressing to see what’s on track and what needs attention.”  A company that utilizes Asana is able to delegate task without micromanaging their employees.  Asana has taken their organization game to the next level and also offers mobile apps for iOS and Android.  This lets the individual user or team members of a company to always be able to connect to the platform.

On an individual level Asana can be used to time manage and assist with staying on track to complete responsibilities.  The best part of Asana is if you have a team of fewer than 15 members you can utilize the free account.  There are paid versions of the software for companies that have a need for more features.  However, for someone with a busy lifestyle, just trying to manage her time, get everything done on time and be able to feel the satisfaction of completing your to-do list, Asana is the way to go.

And the Whistles of Time Management

The design of Asana is extremely user-friendly and can be navigated with ease.  The user is able to add to-do items to a list or calendar for easy reference.  For those users that are on a team, there is an option to have a team conversation along with a team calendar.  The best part of Asana, you can have unlimited task projects and conversations.  This is an amazing offer for those that are using Asana in a small business or small team setting.  These groups are able to take advantage of the free user option with the opportunity to upgrade in the future.

One of the newest features on Asana is the “timeline” option.  Timeline allows you to “create project plans that help you stay on schedule—so you hit your deadlines.”  The timeline feature works as a project management tool that assists in making sure each little detail does not fall through the cracks.

Who is Using This Tool and Does it Keep My Information Safe?

Companies like Airbnb, Deloitte, NASA and many more utilize Asana and all the features this platform offers.  These companies apply all the benefits Asana offers, and you also can “stay in sync, hit deadlines, and reach your goals.”  Asana lets the user map out each step of the task so no detail is missed.  Through the Asana platform, the user is able to make notes, attach documents, and tag other users on tasks.  According to a Business First Family article productivity drops by 40% due to multitasking.  Asana can counteract that statistic and assist with staying on track and organized.

A major concern for many is security.  The need to know that their information is going to be secure and protected.  Security of Asana is outstanding.  Asana uses “TLS 1.1 and greater, and we follow application security best practices. Asana hosts all data in secure SSAE 16 audited data centers via Amazon in the US. We also work with third-party security services and network scanning tools to reduce vulnerabilities and security threats to your data.”  This time management platform takes security seriously.  Interested in more details about Asana security?
